The second Highlands and Islands Visual Arts Gathering took place in the newly-rebuilt Eden Court Theatre in Inverness on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th May 2008.

The first Gathering was held in Ullapool in November 2006 and was attended by over 100 delegates.  The feedback from that event asked for more time for discussion and debate, and so the bulk of this second Gathering was in the form of workshops and discussion groups.  But there was also an opportunity to catch up with the latest developments in the key public agencies, regional and national, and to hear from a number of leading artists on their own experiences ‘in the field’.
